The first step in the Marrakech desert tour 3 days starts as our tour guide picks you up from your hotel in Marrakech and escorts you to the starting point. In these 3 days, we will explore the eastern part of Morocco and take you back in time to witness the authenticity of the Moroccan architecture and nature. The path from Marrakech goes over the Atlas Mountains toward the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou.
The Kasbah is located within a walled city built of clay. It was fortified by Almoravids in the 11th century. Moreover, this site has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. The walls of the Kasabah deepens your experience in the Berber architecture and takes you back in time to the era of desert nomad traders. Lunch is scheduled to be taken in the Kasbah.
After this, we set off to Ouarzazate. The literal translation of this name is “without noise” and this name still applies. Ouarzazate is still a peaceful city. Ouarzazate is a destination for many movie makers such as the Mummy, Game of thrones, and gladiator. We continue our way to Dades Valley. We can take a break at a café on the way. In Dades, you can relax at a guest house and enjoy a delicious dinner and Moroccan Hospitality.
As the sun peeks over the mountains surrounding Dades, we have breakfast at the guesthouse then set for Todgha Gorges. This place is a natural sculpture. The mountains stand high as walls as if built by giants, and the river flows steadily like a serpent toward Tinghir. And so our path leads. After lunch, we set off to Merzouga passing through Tinjdad, Erfoud, and Rissani.
As the languid air cloaks itself in the fragrance of desert, Merzouga appears on the horizon. Merzouga is famous for its golden dunes. There, you experience a camel ride and traverse the golden dunes to Erg Chebbi to finally settle in a desert camp located at the heart of the desert. There, we will spend the night in the camp for an unforgettable overnight stay under the stars. There, you enjoy the Berber music and dance.
This is all part of the Marrakech Desert Adventure – 3 Days, where you get to fully immerse yourself in the stunning landscapes and rich cultural experiences of Morocco's desert.
Once the light of the morning smothers the night’s darkness, we get ready to have our breakfast and continue the exploration on the last day of this Marrakech desert tour 3 days. The camels take you back to Merzouga. There, we will roam Draa valley to see Rissani. This area is known for the architecture of its temples, mausoleum, and palaces. The itinerary takes through Nqoub and Tamnougalt reaching Ouarzazate again. There we have a break for lunch at a café.
We resume our way through the Atlas Mountains and back to Marrakech. The arrival to Marrakech is expected to be around 8.00 pm. And that would be the end of our 3-Day Erg Chebbi Desert Tour from Marrakech.
