We pick you up from your riad in Marrakesh and take you on a two-day desert excursion from Marrakesh to Fez. To guarantee that we arrive in the desert in time to ride camels and see the sunset over the Erg Chebbi dunes in Merzouga, we will depart early.
Our path leads us from Marrakesh to Merzouga, which provides breathtaking vistas of the High Atlas Mountains. Along the journey, we'll pause to take in the breathtaking scenery. One of the stops on our agenda is the sweeping vista of the historic Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, which has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. This location is well-known from its roles in hit TV shows and movies including Game of Thrones, Gladiator, and Babel. Following that, we carry on toward Merzouga.
We plan to arrive at Merzouga in the afternoon and will stop for lunch at a restaurant along the way. Camels are waiting for you there to transport you through the dunes of Erg Chebbi. On the way to the camp, there will be a break to take in the serene sunset over the enormous sand dunes.
When you arrive at your opulent camp after dusk, staff will accompany you to your personal opulent tent so you may take a shower and unwind before supper. A tasty dinner is planned for the evening, which will be followed by music and Berber drumming around the fire.
It is estimated that the travel distance is 560 km, and the driving time is roughly 9 hours.
Day two offers a breathtaking dawn if you get up early. Following a delectable breakfast, we will take a 4x4 vehicle out of the camp and proceed in the direction of Merzouga. We set out to reach Fez from Merzouga.
We pause along our way to take in the expansive views of a palm-tree-filled oasis in the Ziz Valley. We will also make a visit to the cedar forest next to Ifrane, where we may be able to spot some Barbary macaques. After there, the Middle Atlas Mountains are traversed.
Your 2 days tour from Marrakesh to Fez should come to a conclusion in the afternoon when you arrive in Fez. We will drop you off at your own riad in Medina to wrap up the vacation.
