Tour Itinerary
Upon your arrival in Marrakech, our friendly representative will welcome you at the airport or any chosen location within the city, and then you will be taken in a private luxury air-conditioned car to begin your adventure. You will leave the city early to cross the majestic Atlas Mountains that stretch at an elevation of 7400 feet above sea level. You will enjoy the most magnificent natural landscapes that Morocco offers, from panoramic views of the valleys. Then you will stop for a short time to take photos for the memory.
Ait Ben Haddou: A Step Back in Time
The first main stop, which is definitely worth recommendation, is Ait Ben Haddou—a kasbah located about thirty kilometers before reaching Ouarzazate. Many tourists from all around the world come to visit this place in order to become acquainted with the historical scenery of Morocco and traditional culture from Berber tribes. It was classified as a site part of the UNESCO World Heritage in 1987 under cultural criteria and is linked to its mud-brick architecture. It includes a group of buildings surrounded by defensive walls, reinforced with towers. From the past until today, the role of the Kasbah is still of great importance along the caravan route between the Sahara and Marrakesh, where it played an essential role in trading and cultural exchange. These highlights reflect the sense of cultural, historical, and architectural importance that the Kasbah bears, making it a must-visit site for persons interested in historical preservation and the maintenance of traditional architectural styles, and for people interested in connecting with the past.
Ouarzazate: Gate to the Desert
The trip takes you to Ouarzazate, known as the Gateway to the Sahara Desert, a city located in south-central Morocco and famous for its picturesque landscapes, rich history and multi-culture, making it a starting point for excursions, especially in the spring and fall when temperatures are more moderate. The city is a center for the global film industry, making it the Hollywood of Morocco, or “Ouallywood,” as it contains Atlas Studios, which has been accredited to produce many famous films and television programs, such as "Lawrence of Arabia" (1962), "Gladiator" (2000), and parts of the TV series "Game of Thrones". It also includes solar energy projects such as the Nour Ouarzazate Solar Park, which is one of the largest solar power plants in the world.
Desert camp experience
Your day peaks in the desert of Zagora, where a camel ride through the sand dunes awaits you at sunset, ending at a traditional Bedouin-style desert camp to spend the night. This offers you the opportunity to enjoy watching the star-decorated sky and tasting a traditional Moroccan dinner under the rhythms of desert music. You can also try sandboarding down the surrounding sand dunes of the camp.
The second day will begin with sunrise, and you will have breakfast. Then you will ride your camels and turn off to Zagora. While returning to Ouarzazate, the zigzagging through the most picturesque Draa Valley and breathtaking Anti-Atlas Mountains will be highly pleasant. Then, you will visit to the Kasbah of Taourirt or the Cinema Museum to get to know the historical and cultural importance of the area in Ouarzazate. You will have lunch and then continue on the return drive to Marrakesh and end the tour. You are expected to arrive in Red City at 6:00 p.m.
The return brief excursion toward Marrakech is a kind of reflection over all the amazing experiences and sights enjoyed during the two days. The tour finishes with a precious set of recollections— that includes glimpses into the richness of Morocco’s heritage and its breathtaking geography, and also peeks further into the timeless beauty and cultural depth of the land.
