Tour Itinerary
Your private tour begins with an early pick up from the airport or your accommodation in Casablanca. The city is in the central-western part of Morocco, on the Atlantic coast of the Chaouia plain. It has over 4.27 million people living in Greater Casablanca, making it the most populous city in the Maghreb region and the eighth most populous city in the Arab world. Our first stop will be the mosque of Hassan II, which is the only mosque in the world that non-Muslims can enter. Afterward, we will look around the city and go to see the amazing Corniche of Casablanca. Staying in a hotel for the night.
After breakfast we continue along the coast to Rabat, the capital city of Morocco, uniquely positioned where the Bouregreg River meets the Atlantic Ocean. This river is relatively shallow and not deep, separating Rabat from the city of Salé. Also, it is located between the latitudes of 30 and 40 degrees north, and it is one of the imperial cities in the country.
You will see the city's most important sights, such as the Hassan Tower and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V. And The Kasbah of Oudaya as well. Lunch is on your own. We go north through Ouazzane in the afternoon to get to Chefchaouen, also known as the "Blue City." It covers an area of approximately 4.20 km², and its population reaches 42,786 people according to the latest statistics in 2014. Next, we journey to Chefchaouen in the Rif Mountains, famous for its blue-painted buildings and alleys. Lastly, stay the night in a hotel.
You are welcome to walk around the beautiful alleys of the blue city Chefchaouen after breakfast. Then we take a drive to Volubilis to see the Roman ruins. It has been well taken care of because UNESCO has named it a World Heritage Site. Historians agree that its history dates back to the first two centuries of the Common Era, due to the presence of Roman ruins such as the public square, the triumphal arch, and the ancient Roman court.
We drive to Meknes after taking a walk through the ruins. It was the capital of Morocco during the reign of Sultan Moulay Ismail (1672-1727), the founder of the Alaouite dynasty.In meknes you will see Some of the prominent tourist attractions like Bab Al-Mansour, the Sahrij Souani basin, the Royal stables, and the granary. The Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail is another one. After that, we'll go to Fes. Stay in a Riad for the night.
We have the whole day to see the best of Fes city with a local guide. Fes is considered the fourth largest city in the Kingdom of Morocco in terms of population, with a population exceeding 1.9 million people. Its climate is mild during spring and autumn, and cold in winter while in summer, the temperatures are very high, reaching up to 45 degrees Celsius.
We start the day by going to the Royal Palace gate. Then there is the well-preserved Medina, which is on the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites. The Blue Gate, also known as Bab Boujloud, is where you will enter the old Medina. The area looks like a maze of streets and alleys. You will go into the Medina to see the Tanneries, the Najjarine fountain, and the Medrasa Bouanania which is one of the most famous schools in the city of Fez and Morocco. It was founded by Sultan Abu Inan Faris between 1350 and 1355. Last but not least is the Quaraouin mosque, which is one of the most famous mosques in Morocco. It was built by Fatima al-Fihri in the year 857. After that, we leave the Medina to go to "the Mellah," which was established in the 16th century by order of the Sultan. The purpose of its establishment was to protect the Jewish population arriving in the city. After that, we'll drive to an old fortress with a view of the Medina and Fes city. And finally, go back to your Riad.
After breakfast, we drive south through Imouzzer to visit Ifrane. The city is known for its cold weather, snow, and homes built in an Alpine style. Its population is 13,380 people. The word "Ifrane" is an Amazigh (Berber) term meaning "caves," and it was named as such because caves are widespread in the vicinity of the city. Currently, the city is often referred to as "Little Switzerland."
Then we go on to Cèdre Gouraud Forest, It was named after the French General Henri Gouraud, who was governing the area at the time. It is home to Barbary macaques. As you walk around in the forest, feel free to feed them. We'll keep going to Midelt later, where we'll have some free time for lunch.The city of Midelt's original name is "Tamdoult," which means "a decorated woolen cover" specific to the people of the region. Then we drive along the Ziz valley and over the Tizi-n-Tilghmt pass to get to Merzouga. With stops for big-picture views.
In the middle of the desert, you have to get up early in the morning to see the beautiful sunrise. Breakfast is on your own time. Then you ride camels back to Merzouga, where your driver is waiting. Merzouga is nicknamed the "City of Healing Sands" because it is considered one of the most famous destinations in Morocco for the natural treatment of rheumatism. Then we leave the desert and go to Rissani town, which is considered the founding center of the Sharifian Alaouite state, where the mausoleum of Moulay Ali al-Sharif, the ancestor of the Alaouites, is located, also Rissani is located in the heart of the historical city of Sijilmasa.
We take a walk through the souk of Rissani and then go to Erfoud. A story suggests that the naming of the city of Erfoud is due to the Amazigh (Berbers) who, upon entering the city and encountering the Ziz River during its flood stages, would lift their clothes up to their knees. The word for knee in Berber is "Ifod," and through the use of this term, the city of Erfoud was named.
In Erfoud we will see one of the workshops that makes fossilized marble. Then we drive to the Todra Gorges, It is located about 14 kilometers from the center of the city of Tinghir, and it is a series of bends and limestone river gorges. These gorges offer spectacular scenic views and are a paradise for photographers and nature lovers.
After that, we continue towards the Dades Valley, passing through Boumalne Dades. Then, we make a stop at the 'Monkey Fingers' rock formation and at a viewpoint overlooking the Dades Valley. Finally, the day concludes with dinner and an overnight stay at a hotel.
On our last day, we keep going to Kalaa Magouna to see the Rose Valley. It is famous for its high-quality rose products. Every year in May, a special festival dedicated to roses is held. The roses produced in this area are used to make cosmetic products, in addition to rose water. After that, we drive to Ouarzazate through the palm trees of Skoura. Ouarzazate is also called the "Gateway to the Desert." Its population is estimated to be around 50,000 people. Following, we go to the studios where well-known movies were filmed.
After that, we'll leave to see the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. It represents an example of ancient and traditional residential architecture in the southern part of Morocco. In addition, it is fortified village that UNESCO has named a World Heritage Site. The Kasbah has also been in a lot of movies, like Gladiator, Alexander, The Mummy, and many more. And also TV shows like "Game of Thrones." The Kasbah consists of a collection of old buildings constructed from mud, surrounded by a defensive wall and reinforced with towers. It is characterized by its innovative and simple design, as well as its durability.
After that, we drive through the High Atlas Mountains and the Tizi-N-Tichka pass to get to Marrakech. The area of the city of Marrakech is 230 square kilometers. It is known as the third largest city by population in the Kingdom of Morocco; its population reached 900,000.
