7 Days tour from Marrakech to Casablanca

You will be picked up from your accommodation in Dades Valley by our tour guide to embark on a memorable excursion. First, we visit the breathtaking Todgha Gorge, a canyon known for its towering cliffs and natural beauty. Explore the area and enjoy the spectacular views that surround you.

Lunch will be served at a local restaurant in Todgha Gorge, offering traditional cuisine amidst scenic views.

Next, we proceed to Merzouga, famous for its expansive sandy dunes. Arrive in time to experience a stunning sunset over the Sahara, a truly unforgettable spectacle.

The evening offers an optional trip to enjoy a camel ride through the dunes.

Overnight in Merzouga.

Depending on your preferences, you may also opt to experience a traditional Berber music show under the stars.

If you wish to enhance your desert experience, please inform your tour guide, and they will make the necessary arrangements.

Early morning departure from your accommodation in Merzouga by private car to explore the desert landscapes surrounding the area.

First, we'll visit a traditional Berber village where you'll have the chance to immerse yourself in the local culture. Discover the unique architecture and customs of the Berber people, deeply rooted in the history of North Africa. This visit offers a profound insight into the enduring lifestyle of the desert inhabitants.

Return to Merzouga by the afternoon. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant, featuring a variety of authentic Moroccan dishes.

In the evening, we offer an optional excursion to further experience the beauty of the Sahara. Enjoy a tranquil sunset over the expansive sand dunes of Erg Chebbi, an unforgettable sight. The changing colors of the dunes under the setting sun provide a perfect scene for relaxation and photography.

If you are interested in additional activities, such as a camel ride through the dunes or a sandboarding adventure or Horseback riding, please inform your tour guide, and they will arrange it for you.

Start your day exploring the sands of Merzouga with an early morning desert trek to experience the serene beauty of the dunes. After breakfast, head to Rissani where you can visit the Mausoleum of Moulay Ali Cherif, the founder of the Alaouite Dynasty. This site offers a deep dive into the history and heritage of Moroccan royalty.

Next, travel to the Tafilalt Oasis, an area known for its lush palm groves and historic kasbahs. This verdant oasis has been a vital part of the Sahara for centuries, providing refuge and sustenance to travelers and locals.

From Tafilalt, make your way towards Ifrane, known as the "Switzerland of Morocco." This charming town is famous for its Alpine-style architecture and scenic landscapes. It's a stark contrast to the earlier desert vistas.

Conclude your day with a drive to Fes, where you will spend the night. This ancient city is a crossroads of cultures and a cradle of deep historical significance in Morocco, providing the perfect setting to reflect on the day's adventures.

In the morning, you have the option to experience a traditional Moroccan cooking class (suitable for ages 6 and up). This is an optional activity that begins early and offers an immersive experience into Moroccan cuisine.

Pick up from your hotel in Fes. Begin your exploration of this ancient city, guided by your private tour guide. Today, you will delve into the rich history and vibrant culture of Fes, starting with its famous historical landmarks.

Medina of Fes

Journey through the sprawling labyrinth of the Medina of Fes, a UNESCO World Heritage site. This ancient city is a pulsating heart of culture, history, and commerce. Accompanied by your private tour guide, explore some of the most hidden gems of the Medina. You will visit three pivotal areas:

Explore the narrow streets lined with meticulously preserved medieval architecture. The Medina is home to religious schools such as the Bou Inania Madrasa and the Al-Attarine Madrasa, renowned for their intricate Islamic art and woodwork.

Royal Palace of Fes

The Royal Palace of Fes, or Dar el Makhzen, located just outside the Medina, features stunning golden gates that are an exemplar of intricate Moroccan craftsmanship. Although entry to the inside is not permitted, the grandeur of the exterior alone is quite mesmerizing.

The Tanneries

Visit the famous tanneries where the age-old methods of leather dyeing are still practiced. Overlooking the tanneries from the surrounding terraces, you can see the vibrant colors and traditional techniques being used, providing insight into the labor-intensive processes of leather production.

After breakfast, depart from Fes to visit the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis - the largest archaeological site in Morocco:

Volubilis

Volubilis is renowned for being the best-preserved Roman ruins in North Africa. This historical site was once a critical Roman outpost and has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site. The ruins are expansive, covering an area that showcases grand public buildings, richly decorated houses, and triumphant arches. The site holds the fascinating history of Roman and Berber civilizations and offers a picturesque vista of the surrounding fertile plains.

Meknes

Next, travel to the imperial city of Meknes, one of Morocco’s historic capitals. Here, explore the striking monuments that reflect the splendor of its founders. Visit the massive Bab Mansour gate, the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, and the old granaries and stables of Heri es-Souani, which highlight the city's strategic importance and architectural might.

Optional Visit to Royal Stables

Optionally, you can arrange a visit to the Royal Stables in Meknes, an impressive establishment designed to house over 12,000 horses. This late afternoon tour provides a glimpse into the royal opulence and the strategic military planning of the past.

End Your Day in Rabat

Conclude your day with a drive to Rabat, where you can relax in the coastal ambiance of Morocco’s capital. Should you wish to make any changes to the itinerary, such as spending more time exploring the historical sites in Meknes or adding a visit to local souks, adjustments can be made accordingly.

Pick up time from your hotel in Rabat at 08:00 am with your local guide. Enjoy an engaging day tour that encompasses the major landmarks of Rabat before heading to Casablanca for your evening departure.

Start your exploration in Rabat at the Kasbah of the Udayas, constructed during the reign of the Almohads. Known for its scenic ocean views and fresh air, the Kasbah is a tranquil place featuring Andalusian gardens, a museum, and picturesque blue and white houses.

Hassan Tower and Mausoleum of Mohammed V

Visit the imposing Hassan Tower, the minaret of an incomplete mosque initiated by Sultan Yacoub al-Mansour in 1195. The site provides a snapshot of the ambitious scale of Almohad architectural planning. Adjacent to the tower lies the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, a masterpiece of modern Moroccan architecture, housing the tombs of the Moroccan king and his two sons.

Lunch in Rabat

Lunch will be served in a local restaurant in Rabat, offering traditional Moroccan cuisine in the heart of the capital.

Old Medina and Royal Palace of Rabat

Then, explore Rabat’s Old Medina, a vibrant labyrinth of shops and traditional buildings. While there, view the exterior of the Royal Palace, a splendid example of Islamic architecture, which serves as the primary royal residence.

Travel to Casablanca

Following your tour in Rabat, you will be driven to Casablanca. Here, you can visit the iconic Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world, renowned for its incredible size and elaborate decoration. Designed by the French architect Michel Pinseau, the mosque stands on a promontory overlooking the Atlantic, which can be seen through a gigantic glass floor with room for 25,000 worshippers.

Khan el-Khalili Bazaar Equivalent

Lastly, if time permits, stroll through the Habous Quarter, Casablanca’s version of a traditional bazaar with its mix of French Colonial architecture and traditional Moroccan style. This area provides a less hectic, but equally fascinating shopping experience compared to Cairo’s Khan el-Khalili.

After an enriching journey through Morocco’s key cities, you will be transferred to the Casablanca airport for your international departure.
